Digital Product Management
It manages the continuous life cycle of everything that requires programming or development, and integrates change and run in a single flow.
Unlike a project, a digital product does not conclude. It is maintained for as long as it remains in use, evolves as the business changes and consumes resources throughout its useful life. How much to invest in maintaining versus building, which features to retire for lack of use and how much technical debt to take on are business decisions with direct financial consequences.
A single flow
Those who build it are those who operate it.
Digital products occupy the base of the Life Cycle, spanning both columns, because they are built and operated in a single flow. There are no handoffs: change and operation belong to the same team.
A digital product does not conclude while it remains in use. That is why it is the natural link between change and run: through it, the operation executes its processes with logic.
The three elements that operate in both domains
- The program brings them together, with one lead for change and another for run under a single owner.
- The digital product integrates them in a single team.
- The Center of Excellence spans them without belonging to either.
The two tracks
Digital Product Management and Digital Product Governance.

Managers track

For professionals responsible for managing. They decide autonomously on everything within their authority and tolerances, prepare, with their recommendation, the decisions that are not theirs to make, and are accountable for their management to the Owner.
Owners track
Digital Product Governance · Digital Product Owner
For professionals responsible for leading. They are accountable for the outcome to whoever delegated to them, decide under delegation from Governance within their remit, approve what the Manager escalates to them and are accountable for ensuring the initiative remains justified.
The book and the certification
P4MGO!® PdM Digital Product Management Body of Knowledge
P4MGO!® PdM Digital Product Manager and P4MGO!® PdM Digital Product Owner: certifications of persons issued by Certification.Institute, holder of the Business&Co.® certification scheme, aligned with the ISO/IEC 17024 personnel certification scheme.
Intermediate level. Prerequisite: P4MGO!® Foundations for Managers or for Owners, or P4MGO!® Essentials.
P4MGO!® PdM training and implementation.
The Management and Governance courses are delivered by ATOs (Accredited Training Organizations), training organizations accredited in P4MGO!®. Implementation within the organization is the role of ACOs (Accredited Consulting Organizations), consulting firms accredited in P4MGO!®, with professionals certified in the discipline.
